Kids Learn Vital 21st Century Skills while having fun playing and coding with LEGO®!
Coding with Robotics is a great way for kids to make an early start on the jobs of the future. That’s what this article and many others are saying. There are great resources for learning to code online, but there is nothing like hands-on Robotics to help apply coding in a very tangible and enjoyable way, which is why we love LEGO Education so much. And while we’re serious about teaching computational thinking, coding, problem solving and teamwork skills, kids have lots of fun in doing all sorts of Robotics games and competitions at our camps. Just check out our previous Summer Camp videos on YouTube.
Prep for Provincial and World Robotics Competitions
Over the summer we spend some of our time with the older kids (Grades 4 and up) using FIRST LEGO League field sets and GearBots BCIT Coding Challenge mats to challenge kids to work in teams to solve robotic challenges in a fun, engaging way. During the school year we take select teams of students to FLL Provincial championships as well as the BCIT Coding Challenge in the spring. We took 2 teams this year to FLL and 3 teams to GearBots, with great success and learning experience all around.
