LEGO® Education SPIKE Prime sets are the latest innovation of LEGO® Robotics, and extremely adaptable! These sets provide a wide range of learning opportunities for students and allow for them to expand upon their code to various levels of difficulty depending on the student’s expertise.

Why SPIKE Prime?

Here at Daedalos Academy, we find our use for SPIKE Prime in teaching more advanced programming to Grade 3s and Grade 4s. These sets act as a great intermediary stepping stone from WeDo 2.0 to Mindstorms, where the coding and building remains colorful and simple to start, growing in difficulty as the students progress. The drag and drop programming software color codes movement, sensors, control loops, and more, helping students to understand the functions of their code.

SPIKE Prime combines the fun building of WeDo 2.0 with the more advanced programming of Mindstorms, allowing students the option of building cheery robots like the Break Dance Bot, or to build competitive driving bases to complete tasks and missions on a game field.
