Building with LEGO Education WeDo

LEGO® Education WeDo™ 1.0

LEGO® Education WeDo™ sets provide an excellent opportunity for students to improve communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills.

At Daedalos Academy, Introductory Robotic Systems introduces students to basic design and computer programing using mechanical and electronic parts including motors, gears and sensors integrated with LEGO® bricks. The curriculum covers STEM topics: science, technology, engineering, mathematics, as well as language arts learning outcomes. Although the course is designed for students Grades 1 to 2, mature Kindergartners are welcomed between January and June.

Why Robotics with LEGO® Education WeDo™?

WeDo is an introductory robotics learning solution that incorporates “hands-on manipulatives with integrated technology and curriculum to create a minds-on experience where problem solving is at the forefront.”* The project-based activities planned for this program help build science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) knowledge while at the same time incorporating lessons in language arts. Students work in pairs to build models, then use the intuitive software program to bring them to life.

A Complete STEM Package

With LEGO Education WeDo 1.0, students will build LEGO models “featuring working motors and sensors; program their models; and explore a series of cross-curricular, theme-based activities while developing their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics as well as language, literacy, and social studies.”*
